Dear customers,
Today is the last day. I am having a party from 2pm to 6pm, to share our last moments and to exchange farewells :)
It’s been 8 weeks since I started the retirement sale. During this period, what has repeatedly occurred in my mind is the famous opening sentence of A Tale of Two Cities: “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of appreciation and love from all of you, some of whom came multiple times to help me clear the inventory. I am deeply touched and feel profoundly grateful, and happy. In the meantime, I would be lying if I said: I have no “separation anxiety”. More than anything else, leaving behind the precious relationships we have built over two decades is not easy for me: the familiar faces, expressions, voices, figures, the way you loved my store and my styles, and the many wonderful conversations beyond fashion …
I would change Dickens’ second sentence to: “It’s the moment of reflection, it’s the moment of envisioning”. 24 years (starting from Petaluma) of running a small business provided me with rich experiences and many lessons that have helped me grow as a businesswoman and as a person. Now, I am eager to start a completely different new journey in my life, with many exciting and joyous pursuits, and doing it with unbound sense of freedom and a relaxed state of mind.
Due to your enthusiastic support, my retirement sale has been extraordinarily successful. Thank you! I have nothing much left to sell. But I would love to see you :)
XOXOXO
Shunzi
